This panel has been painted using stained glass paints and enamels. Stained glass paints are water based and once dry and fixed to the surface of the glass are kiln fired to permanently fuse into the glass.

Fused glass bowl project

Glass is crushed to form "frit" which can be made up of small chunks or fine dust. This is then poured on to form patterns in the glass prior to melting.

Fused glass bowl. Glass is cut to shape and layered onto a clear glass base. The piece is then kiln fired to approx 800c. The higher the temperature of the glass the flatter the glass becomes.
